Innovators
Biopharming is a relatively new field, with companies just beginning to delve into the testing and development of plant-made pharmaceuticals (PMPs). Pioneer companies are to thank for their persistence and innovation in the field. Because PMPs can be produced at a significantly lower cost than current production methods, the research of these companies will provide patients with more affordable vaccines and other pharmaceuticals. Medicago
Medicago is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to creating novel vaccines and proteins to address a broad range of infectious diseases. Medicago has developed three technologies to create their vaccines: it's plant-based Proficiaâ„¢ technology, Virus-Like Particles (VLPs) and the VLPExpressâ„¢ platform.

PlantForm
PlantForm is a biotechnology company aimed at lowcost manufacturing of a diverse range of plant made pharmaceuticals. The company uses it's vivoXPRESSâ„¢ tehcnology to grow biopharmaceuticals from genetically modified tobacco plants.
PlantForm's mission statement:

Ventria
Ventria is a biopharmaceutical company with a product pipeline made with their plant-based recombinant protein technology, ExpressTec. ExpressTec yields ten times the recombinant protein than any other plant-based system.
Ventria's mission statement:
